In September I spent 2 of the most enjoyable days in Brugge. Founded in the 9th century, Brugge is the capital and the largest city of the Flemish Region of Belgium. Today it is a World Heritage Site and a popular tourist center that is indeed a sight for your eyes. Brugge means “city of bridges”, and there’s lots of them. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is also sometimes referred to as “The Venice of the North”. Brugge can best be described as an enchanting fairy-tale town. With it’s Medieval and Romanesque architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, this is a town which is best explored on foot and without an agenda.
I took 767 photos while in Brugge, and have narrowed that down to the best that I have to offer.
