I’m Back and Blogging!!

Hello Everyone!!

If you’re one of the readers who have been reading my blog Black Chick in Saudi from way back, then you know I haven’t written in awhile. I even considered abandoning this blog, for a variety of reasons. However, I received yet another email today in which someone was asking whether or not I was still in Saudi Arabia, and wanted to know how my life was going.

Another reason I decided to start blogging again is that, for the past 2-years,  I have been very active on the Black Chick in Saudi Facebook Page. I thought I would move over and use Facebook versus my blogging platform. Huge mistake! It’s gotten to the point that Facebook is only allowing me to reach about 2% of the people who liked the page. If I want everyone who likes the page to see what I’ve posted, Facebook wants me to pay for it!! WTH!!  When people “Like” something they want to see it. They don’t need Facebook filtering their news feed.
I totally hate Facebook for this reason. I like that platform, but the changes that they continue to make does not an allow it to be an alternative to a blogging platform.

So…I’ve decided to start blogging about my “Life in Saudi” again.

This past December was the 5-year anniversary of living in Saudi Arabia. Can you believe it? I know I can’t. I’m like, “time sure flies.” I’m in the same house and on the same complex. I’ve watched numerous people come and go, and I’m still standing strong. 🙂 I’ve seen many changes happen in the surrounding towns and even on the compound, changes for the better. And, there are certainly more shopping options than when I first arrived.

I figure since I’ve started blogging again I can call the first 2.5 years, “the early years.” LOL As some of you may remember those early years were something else, the haters and the mean girls came out of the woodwork. LOL And, trust me, they’re still around. At first the shock hurt my feelings, but now that I know the “game” and how it’s played, I feel sorry for them. Life is too short for petty BS. My life is good, and I’ve risen above it.

I’m a little excited as I type this. It’s been so long, and some of the regular readers have probably gone on to bigger and better things, but I’m looking forward to reconnecting with this blog and sharing my life in Saudi Arabia.
